Special Events

Ok, so in special events, you are able to get special Pokémon, key items, or Pokéwalker Route Maps for free! If you want to know some of these events so you don’t miss out, here they are. (Please note that these are events that have, are, or will be happening in America. No Japan only event Pokémon or Pokémon in a certain state, etc.) Every special event is accessed via Mystery Gift and make sure to go to the Pokémart to pick up your gift after you’ve downloaded it.

Platinum Only:

Release Dates: April 20th 2009 to May 12th 2009

Use:
Once picked up at the Pokémart, go to the Eterna City Galactic Headquarters and go to the Northwestern part of the first floor. This opens up a brand new room which has 5 items within which allow you to change the form of your Rotom.

Use:
Once picked up at the Pokémart, go to the Canalave City and you will find that you can now enter the locked inn. Once there, you fall asleep and wake up on New Moon Island. Once you make your way into the island, you will find Darkrai there. He is at Level 50 so be prepared for a tough battle. Once captured, you will hear a booming voice explaining why he placed Darkrai on that island.

Oak’s Letter

Use:
Once picked up at the Pokémart, go to the Route 224 and make your way to the very end of it. You will see that the area has turned to be filled with flowers as opposed to the muddy rockface area it was beforehand. Professor Oak and Marley soon come up and say that you’re meant to write down what you’re most thankful for by the stone. Once done, Shaymin will appear and run up north to the Flower Paradise. Once you make your way up there, you will find Shaymin in its Land Forme ready to be captured. If you take the Shaymin to Floaroma Town, a girl will give you the Gracidea Flower, which can change your Shaymin to Sky Forme. However, it cannot be used at night or if Shaymin is frozen.

Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum:

Lv. 5 Jirachi

Use:
Once picked up at the Pokémart, Jirachi will be within your party. This Jirachi has special moves and details not found in normal Jirachi. It is also the only way to get Jirachi in the current generation of games. You can send this Jirachi over to HeartGold & SoulSilver to access a new area in the Pokéwalker, the Night Sky’s Edge. Its attacks are Wish, Confusion, Rest, and Draco Meteor. It is holding a Liechi Berry.

Lv. 30 Pikachu Colored Pichu

Use:

This event gives you a special Shiny Pichu to represent the Pikachu Colored Pichu of the Zoroark movie. This Pichu also has a special function when transferred to the HeartGold & SoulSilver games. First, you’ll need a Pokémon with Cut, and an empty slot in your party. Put the Pichu in the first slot of your party and go to the Ilex Forest, then check the shrine.  A Spiky-Eared Pichu will come up behind the shrine. Then a random man will appear and the Spiky-Eared Pichu will join you! The Shiny Pichu is holding an Everstone and its attacks are Charge, Volt Tackle, Endure, and Endeavor. The Spiky Eared Pichu is holding a Zap Plate and its attacks are Helping Hand, Volt Tackle, Swagger, and Pain Split. However, you cannot evolve it or trade it to another game.

Lv. 100 Arceus

Use:
This Arceus is a great addition to your team as it is already at Lv. 100 and it knows Judgment, Roar Of Time, Spacial Rend, and Shadow Force. As well as that, it will also activate an event in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver in the Ruins of Alph. Put it in the first slot of your party and take it there and you will meet up with Cynthia who will say that Arceus has the power to create Pokémon. She will then take you to a secret place called the Sinjoh Ruins where can can pick your choice of a Lv. 1 Dialga, Palkia, or Giratina. They are all holding their corresponding orbs and they all know Dragonbreath and Scary Face.

HeartGold and SoulSilver Only:

Use:
The first WiFi Event in Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver is attributed to the Pokéwalker. When you receive this gift, you will discover that you have obtained a new Pokéwalker course. This Pokéwalker course is filled with Pikachu. However, there are Pikachu here whom have special attacks that Pikachu doesn’t normally learn. These attacks are Helping Hand, Flail, Fake Out, Surf, and Fly.

Use:
The next WiFi Event in Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver is attributed to the Pokéwalker as well. When you receive this gift, you will discover that you have obtained a new Pokéwalker course. This Pokéwalker course is filled with Pokémon that are normally hard to find and they know a variety of moves they don’t normally learn.

Enigma Stone

Use:
The third WiFi Event in Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver gives you the key item Enigma Stone. When you take this item to the Pewter City Museum and take it to the guy who revives your fossils, he will discover that it is the Soul Dew. Soon after, Steven Stone will arrive and will tell you it is an incarnation of the souls of Latios & Latias. Once you leave, Latios or Latias will arrive and challenge you depending on the version you have; Latias for SoulSilver and Latios for HeartGold.

Use:
The next WiFi Event in Pokémon gives you a special Mew to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Pokémon Gold and Silver. This Mew is Level 5 but knows no special moves.; it only knows Pound.

Use:
Although this Lock Capsule has no use in HeartGold and SoulSilver, using the Relocator you can transfer it to your Black or White game. There, you can take it to a locksmith in Castelia City who will open it and it will contain TM95 Snarl, a move that can only be learned through this TM.

Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver:

Release Dates: June 26th 2010 to July 16th 2010

This is the same Jirachi given over Gamestop and this event will let you get it directly on your HeartGold or SoulSilver game instead of having to trade over from Diamond Pearl, or Platinum. Now you can get the legendary beasts in Shiny form. They will activate an in-game event in Pokémon Black and White. You will be given a chance to catch a Zoroark. The Entei is holding a Custap Berry and its attacks are Flare Blitz, Howl & Crush Claw. The Raikou is holding a Micle Berry and its attacks are Zap Cannon, Aura Sphere and Weather Ball. The Suicune is holding a Rowap Berry and its attacks are Sheer Cold, Air Slash & Aqua Ring.

Entei: February 14th 2011 to February 20th 2011

These are the same legendary beasts given over Gamestop and this event will let you get it on your games over Wifi if you missed the event at Gamestop, but not if you already got it at Gamestop. Now you can get the legendary beasts in Shiny form. They will activate an in-game event in Pokémon Black and White. You will be given a chance to catch a Zoroark in Lostlorn Forest. The Entei is holding a Custap Berry and its attacks are Flare Blitz, Howl & Crush Claw. The Raikou is holding a Micle Berry and its attacks are Zap Cannon, Aura Sphere and Weather Ball. The Suicune is holding a Rowap Berry and its attacks are Sheer Cold, Air Slash & Aqua Ring.

Use:
This event gives you a special Celebi. It will activate in-game events in both HeartGold and SoulSilver and Black and White. In Heart & Soul, take Celebi to the Ilex Forest shrine and you will be sent backward in time with Lyra/Ethan to find out a special bit of backstory into the whole Team Rocket system and you get to fight Giovanni so be ready for battle. In Black and White you can obtain a free Zorua in Castelia City. It is holding a Jaboca Berry and its attacks are Nasty Plot, Leaf Storm, Recover, and Healing Wish.

Use:
In this event you are able to obtain Ash’s Pikachu! It knows the moves it has in the anime, Iron Tail, Quick Attack, Thunderbolt, and Volt Tackle. It holds a Light Ball.

Liberty Pass

Use:
Take the Liberty Pass to Liberty Pier in Castelia City and the guy with a boat will take you to Liberty Garden. After beating some Team Plasma grunts, you will be able to capture Victini!

Egg

Use:
This is a special egg, as there are three possible Pokémon that can hatch from the egg, Ash’s Pidove, Iris’s Axew, or Cilan’s Pansage. You get the Pokémon chosen at random so you can’t select the Pokémon you receive. These Pokémon have maximum IVs in Attack, Special Attack & Speed and natures that match.

Lv. 50 Zoroark

Use:
This event gives you the rare Pokémon Zoroark. This Pokémon is not findable easily within the games. Also, this Zoroark is given the special move, Snarl, which can only be learned by an event-only TM which has yet to be released.

Gift:
Lv. 50 Victini

Use:
This Victini is to celebrate the release of the 14th movies. It also knows its extremely powerful event only move: V-Create, AND it knows the signature moves of Reshiram and Zekrom. It is holding a Fire Gem and knows V-Create, Fusion Flare, Fusion Bolt, and Searing Shot.

Lv. 70 Mewtwo

Use:
This Mewtwo is to celebrate the first anniversary of Pokémon Black and White. It is holding a King’s Rock and knows its new signature move, Psystrike, as well as Shadow Ball, Aura Sphere, and Electro Ball.

Gift:
Lv. 100 Zekrom/Reshiram

Use:
Depending on which game you have, you can get a Zekrom in Pokémon Black and a Reshiram in Pokémon White. These can unlock a special C-Gear skin. Simply tuck your Pokémon in (you need to be connected to Pokémon Global Link) and finish the mini-game to get a Reshiram or Zekrom C-Gear skin. You can only get one per game, but if you have both games connected to your account, then you can get both skins. The Reshiram is holding a Dragon Gem and knows Blue Flare, Fusion Flare, Mist, and Draco Meteor. The Zekrom is also holding a Dragon Gem, and has the moves Bolt Strike, Fusion Bolt, Haze, and Outrage.

Lv. 50 Darkrai

Use:
Here is Darkrai, holding the very special and rare Enigma Berry. It knows Dark Void, Ominous Wind, Faint Attack, and Nightmare.
